![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That feels a bit awkward since I want to be able to turn the segments on using the STM32 MCU. These eight pins, each turn a segment LED if you connect that pin to ground. Unfortunately I have no manufacturer information or model number of the display so it is hard to look up a datasheet.Įight pins are unconnected so far. ![]() The seven-segment display used here does not seem to require very much current at all to light up. The anode pins are located in the middle of the top and bottom row of 5 pins, that is pin 3 and pin 8. There are two anode pins and it seems to not matter at all which one I use, so I connect 3V via a 365 Ohm resistor to both of them. I hope I am not mixing up the anode and cathode words there but what it means is that I am connecting positive (+) 3V to the anode pins. This seven-segment display has a common anode and one cathode per segment LED. When I get my hand on some decoder chips I will revisit this setup. This approach is taken because I currently do not have any seven-segment decoder chip but still want to see if it will light up. The approach taken here will be to connect each of those pins to GPIO pins on the STM32F4-Discovery board as below. This particular seven-segment display has a decimal point and thus have eight input pins. This first one was not very tricky (but not without its caveats) it is a seven-segment display. I will try to figure out how they work and write down my findings. I have a number of different sensors, displays and servos just sitting around. I would love to hear your feedback, help, constructive criticism and tips, that would be awesome! Always do your own research and read datasheets. So please do not take what I write as an experts guide. This is why I share my naive experimentation into the field of electronics. I enjoy learning and would like to do that together with others. I am not an electrical engineer or an expert in electronics in any way. ![]() *New Mavics are arriving WITHOUT AN INTERNAL SD CARD* This is where some very smart people hang out and you can find out just about anything drone related, even very specific hardware or software reversing questions. Thanks!! BTW you are all invited to join us on SLACK where we hang out.lots of great drone peeps there, and someone is always willing to help you with any questions you have about anything drone related. You owe it to yourself to hack your drone and get the most out of it to enjoy your purchase. For any "hacks" to be done, you will need to purchase a license, but it's not expensive. ![]() This application will free up your drone for sure!! Please check it out, and it is free to download and run. ![]() It is well worth the money, and had this been available way back when I created this blog, I would have purchased it in a heartbeat. ![]() Don't take the chance to do this takes a lot of time and effort, and Drone-Hacks can do this for you in minutes.AND you can reverse everything you do to go back to completely stock settings!! FCC mode, RC boost mode for increased RC power, performance mods and you can also obtain root on your drone if you need it for dev purposes for purchasing a professional license. (all except for the Mavic Pro 2 for now.that one is locked down pretty tightly), with Drone-Hacks you can disable NFZ enforcement and disable height limits with Custom Flight Controller on the most recent firmware for many drones. Currently Drone-Hacks can downgrade your firmware without having to unlock it, if it has been downgrade locked by DJI. Drone-Hacks can do much more than what I have written in this blog. Ok, before you dive deep down the DJI rabbit hole, go here: I have joined a great team that strives to automate this process and is constantly bringing new hacks to the drone community!! Our long term goals are not only to support all DJI models, but also to support other manufactures of drones as well, such as Autel, and Fimi drones! This app is easy to use, easy to understand what it can and can't do, and even has a WIZARD MODE!! This wizard mode will guide you in what we recommend is best for your drone. Tips and parameter settings will be added to the end of this blog entry. I will attempt to keep this up to date (time permitting) with the latest how to's and links for you to get the most out of your DJI craft. Well.if you are here, you might be this guy ever update this info? Don't 's still all relevant, so read on! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
